END OF THE AGE

Every leaf that falls,
Every hair that drops;
The wrinkles that develop,
The erosion of landscape;
Upheavals in space,
Tumults in the seas;
Outbreaks of war
Like outbreaks of disease!

Each audible in silence
And thunderous in speech.
Speak alike to deaf and hearing
The grace and forgiveness of One crying
When tore in Himself the passage
To life and fire at end of the age.
