When God’s Word
Spoke of the Savior,
The evil spun its yarn
Of knight in shining armor.
So, like Eve deceived
To seek Him in seed of man,
Are maidens lied to
To seek in man her Husband.
With rosy tales of innocence,
Breed lambs for slaughter.
Promising life of true bliss,
Happiness in life ever after.
Ensnared, body and soul
She fusses and preens,
In manners, looks or poise
By competence, to please.
Churches step it up
One better than Almighty!
Isn’t man as God Himself
In everything, just as worthy?
For God saw man alone
And thought it not good.
Churches see the tail begone
And connect it with its head.
